Well Thanksgiving has past and the site is still not complete.  It takes a lot of work and the end of the year is tough with Holidays and getting ready for the annual budget meetings.  This is where we allocate money for next years operations.  Fear not... by the time you read this post it will be history and the site will be online. 

I'm back from my Hiatus from blogging and working on the website. I was away because I was studying for my LEED, AP accreditation.  LEED is Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design from the US Green Building Council.  If you want to read up on LEED you can check it out here.  I look forward to utilizing my new knowledge to make some green decisions going forward to save us money and the Earth at the same time.

In any case, I am back now and hopefully we can still target a launch of the new site before Thanksgiving.

I just upgraded the forums code.  The new code is awesome.  It allows private messages, better searching abilities, and a lot more.  I am so excited. 

I added a feed from Google News with a search of Plainsboro, NJ.  In other words its an RSS feed using those keywords.  Pretty cool.  Maybe I'll tune the search parameters to make sure it is more relevant...

Well our hosting provider has moved our application over to our own "app pool".  We have not had a memory issue since the change.  Hopefully it will stay this way.  The site is currently running super fast, and stable!

Forum search was broken.  Kept getting an error from MS SQL server.  I traced it down to a bug in a stored procedure.  I fixed the bug after 2 hours of screwing around and now it works pretty great.  Enjoy!

I just added a Windows Live ID authentication option to the login.  It is awesome. If you have Live ID already you can associate it with your login so you can get automatically logged in.  This is great and will make your experience on the site really great.

I started to put together the Renovation Project pages. I have also been tuning the site. I have been getting an error in the error log that concerns me a bit. It is an out of memory exception. I am not sure if it is a bug in the code or if it is a server issue. I am currently trying to resolve that issue. Even though this site is taking a good bit of time and effort to build it will be worth it for everyone. I will hopefully be able to put a decent amount of time into working on the site this weekend so hopefully we will get this thing up early. I would like to get the site launched without the full planned functionality. We can then add the additional content as we go. I just populated the renovation project frequently asked questions with the material from the renovation project booklet. I also added a documents sections and started populating that with RCE documents. Chipping away at this slowly but surely...

Ok.  I just added new FAQ page and functionality.  We will need to populate that... there are a lot of Frequently asked questions.  I also added a new Silverlight photo album under the Renovation project.  I forsee that there will be tons of photos in there eventually once the project is under way.
